LIFE, IN COLOUR: THE TINCT LIVES!
May 14th, 2010
– This project has, for a number of reasons, languished unfinished in a box for two years. Now, with encouragement and help from my friends at Hacklab.toand Site3.ca, I’ve finally completed it! In its current incarnation, it is a standalone, full-colour, interactive version of Conway’s Game of Life; with a firmware flash, it can become a monome-compatible USB interface.

UNITY3D + ARDUINO *AUGMENTED* PLEASURE

I’m following a *very* interesting thread down at Arduino Forum.
[kapser] a.k.a. [Tiuri de Jong] posted a huge step forward towards a Arduino-to-Unity connection (I can’t think of all the possibilities this framework can reach).
Check out Tiuri’s project hosted on google code.
Let’s help debugging de jong’s project now.
I’d like to thank [Caliber Mengsk] as well to follow and post some of his personal code (aside of Tiuri’s one) on the Forum’s thread.
UPDATE: just wanted to thank [Tiuri] for the english version of the big post thumbnail. We are following his job on Unity & Arduino and looking forward to see new better version of it.

Pillow Talk is a project aiming to connect long distance lovers. Each person has a pillow for their bed and a chest sensor which they wear to sleep at night. The chest sensor wirelessly communicates with the other person’s pillow; when one person goes to bed, their lover’s pillow begins to glow softly to indicate their presence. Placing your head on the pillow allows you to hear the real-time heartbeat of your loved one.
A really interesting yet poetic project from [Joanna Montgomery]

HOW QUICK CAN YOU SOLDER?

I am working in a project for the fashion brand Purificacion Garcia since a couple of months ago. All the objects that will be exhibited in Gijon from this Thursday are made with Arduino and Processing. I will post more about this art project and the community it aims to be supporting in India after the opening. In the meanwhile, I feel I need to share this with you:
So, how long do you need to solder 192 SMD LEDs? It took me 1h 10m, the soldering wasn’t perfect, but only one of the LEDs wasn’t shinning as it should after I finished. That’s quite an achievement. The code? The magnificentTLC5940 library for Arduino by user acleone (Alex Leone). Thanks! it is a very smooth piece of code. I strongly recommend you using it if you are in the need of a lot of PWM pins.
